HD Lens

Do you know which eyeglass lenses offer the best vision? An HD lens customized to your needs can make colors brighter, shapes sharper, and bring everything keenly into focus. Unlike traditional lenses, an HD lens delivers an unprecedented level of customized vision correction. That’s because the lenses are engineered based on a digital scan of the eyes customized precisely for you. The result when wearing an HD lens is increased clarity, vivid colors, and defined details allowing you to see everything they way it was meant to be seen. For anyone who feels dissatisfied with how they see when wearing their eyeglasses, an HD lens might be right for you.

20/20 Vision

Eyeglasses or contacts help you have 20/20 vision. But what does that really mean? 20/20 vision is not perfect vision. In fact, someone can have 20/15 vision, which is sharper than average. But, generally speaking, the goal of correcting vision with eyeglasses or contact lenses is to bring a person’s vision to 20/20. While it is nearly impossible to quantify what perfect, vision is, a more unique question to consider is, perfect vision for what. For example, your glasses or contacts may correct your vision, but you may still suffer from eye strain.

From reading and driving to using a computer, the result of not choosing the right lens for your glasses can affect your vision. To maximize the clarity and comfort of your eyesight in all situations, an HD lens provides wearers with superior clarity, and sharper, brighter eyesight, whether they are nearsighted, farsighted, or have a mild astigmatism. In fact, digital lenses can enable you to enjoy up to a 20 percent wider vision channel for both intermediate and near distances, making computer use and reading more comfortable and enjoyable.

What Are High Definition Lenses?

Wearing glasses or contacts may give you 20/20 vision, but you will probably still see small distortions. This is due to the characteristics of your eyes and the limitations of regular lenses (aberrations). High definition eyeglass lenses are designed to correct these irregularities. As a result, you have sharper vision in all lighting conditions and improved nighttime driving. There are two types of high definition lens technology, Wavefront and Free-Form.

Free-Form Lenses

Free-form lenses are made with computer controlled surfacing equipment that provides a much more precise and defined finish. In addition to the improved visual clarity these lenses provide, you can expect:

  • Excellent Night and Low Light Vision:  reduced glare and halo effects caused by light sources at night (car headlights, traffic lights, ETC.)
  • Remarkable Contrast Perception: sharper vision
  • Exceptional Color Vision: maximized optics built into your lenses, providing brighter and more intense colors

Wavefront Lenses

This type of HD lens is made with the help of the same sophisticated technology used to measure the optics of the eye before custom, LASIK eye surgery. Wavefront is a computerized instrument that projects uniform light waves into the eye that reflect off the retina. The returning “wavefront” of light is analyzed to evaluate all optical imperfections, including higher-order irregularities. When making wavefront lenses, these measurements are used in a computer-controlled manufacturing process to create customized, high definition lenses.
